Over 100 news websites have been implicated in spreading false information as part of Russian efforts to interfere in the upcoming German parliamentary elections, according to an investigation by the nonprofit center CORRECTIV and the disinformation tracking project NewsGuard. These websites have been found to be linked to the late Yevgeny Prigozhin’s “troll factory” and Russia’s military intelligence agency, the GRU.
