State auditor: Health agency failed to monitor financial health of Mass. hospitals

The Center for Health Information and Analysis, an independent state agency, never collected audited financial statements from 10 acute care hospitals, including eight hospitals owned by the now-bankrupt Steward Health Care, over a two-year period.
