My interest in policy issues began with my passion for evidence-based debate, where I have had nine years of experience as both a competitor and coach. As a writer, I've come to realize that while the most divisive policy issues receive the most attention in media, there are many others on which the public largely agrees, yet they go under-developed in the public square. In addition to these more hidden issues, I enjoy writing about policy research and its implications for everyday public policy conversations. With a Master of Public Policy from University College Dublin and a B.S. in Public Policy Analysis and Quantitative Economics from Ohio State University, I bring a unique understanding of the technical behind-the-scenes aspects of public policy decision-making to my writing, which I aim to distill into actionable knowledge for the realm public discourse beyond academia.
